In this story
After months of preparation and internet teases, the Rive Video Promotion campaign announced, the official video for Funkadelic’s “Ain’t That Funkin’ Kinda Hard on You?” remix arrived with the whole gang on board.
Kendrick and Ice Cube on the mothership
Kendrick Lamar opens the track with bars from the “Blue Faces” demo, and Compton original Ice Cube joins in. The video follows George Clinton and the torchbearers of funk on intergalactic travels, co-piloting the mothership as it descends on an interplanetary party.
On the road
The campaign paired the video with George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic tour dates in spring 2016, from Webster Hall in New York and the Neptune Theatre in Seattle to House of Blues stops in Houston, Dallas and Cleveland, Detroit’s MotorCity Casino and Victoria Park in London.
