Found in the Inbox: Vita Chambers and Defibrillator Say “Want You”

Vita Chambers was born in Barbados and raised in Toronto. The Rive Video Promotion campaign for “Want You” recalls a breakthrough built on the road: a 27-show tour opening for Justin Bieber in 2010, then the single “Fix You,” which reached No. 15 on Canadian radio and went Gold in three months in 2013.

Juno-nominated

“Fix You” was nominated for Dance Recording of the Year at the 2013 Junos. That year Vita was named Best Pop Artist at the Toronto Teenz Fav Awards and headlined at Pride Winnipeg, and in 2014 earned two CMRA nominations, for Best Solo Artist in Dance/Urban/Rhythmic and in CHR.

On the Pride stage

Vita performed alongside Chaka Khan and Ayah Marar at Pittsburgh Pride in 2014, along with Hamilton Pride and Toronto Pride in 2014 and 2016. Singles since “Fix You” include “What If,” “A+D,” “Tell Me,” “Ferrous,” “His Love” and the power ballad “Atlas,” and the latest is “Want You” with Defibrillator.

Why it was in the inbox

A pop singer with a stadium apprenticeship knows how to build a chorus. “Want You” is one.
