Precious Love by Shavar Stuckey Exposed Vocals Music Review
Shavar Stuckey a talented rap artist, producer and songwriter that initiates heart and applies his unique skill as an artist into every track he produces is back and ready to send his fans straight to a state of music enjoyment and give hip hop lovers some more good music to listen to. This new release Precious Love is rapped over what sounds like a sampled section of the 80’s tune “Heaven Must Have Sent You From Above”, by The legends Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terell- Precious Love. However, it appears to be hand plucked on string guitar, because the acoustics sound live and fresh in studio. Moreover, Shavars version of Precious Love has a whole new take. It begins with a casual discussion. “…Hey man, we goin’ out again tonight niggah…” “…Nah man. I’m stayin’ home tonight with my shorty…”
An introduction to be remembered because the track discusses the reasoning behind making the choices of either staying home with his girl and keeping his relationship intact or hanging out with friends and placing unnecessary strain on it. With all the positive values that he places on the relationship with his girl, he has no reason to go chill with friends. During the first minute or so of the track, the friend expresses to him, “…there’s 3 million of them…” Why??? Then goes on to give his reasoning why he should go out. Further stating how he lives as a ‘free man’, expressing that he is concerned for his friends ‘freedom’. Saying “…Man don’t tell me you in love…” he exclaims.
But the throughout the rest of the track which is rapped with perfection by the way, the storyline is played out in exquisite detail. As the artist states his defense on his decision to stay at home. Shavar has produced many great tracks and is well on the way to having his music circulated and in the market for music lovers to enjoy.
Overall the track is well performed. Makes plenty of sense and the wordplay is remarkably dope! Make sure to listen for dome poetic lines that would make you laugh because the defensive position is a solid one. I loved it!
I’m Sorry by Shavar Exposed Vocals Music Review

Shavar better known as Rubin Stuckey is an upcoming hip hop, RnB, rap artist, song writer/lyricist from Brooklyn, New York has come to the game bringing a sense of ‘Reality’ as the main focus and the strength that drives him to create and produced such fantastic and unique projects such as ‘ I’m Sorry ‘.
The motivation for development of his talent his adorable daughter and furthermore the sharing and implementation of the entertainment aspects are astonishing and praiseworthy. After losing both parents, being shot and being homeless for a time to recording and producing music in his own studio, its no wonder why his music has an originality that only ‘true to life’ experiences that give emotion to the music with a powerful message.
Extremely familiar with hard work, desire to be the best father a daughter can have, focus on providing for her and motivation to continue non stop are all it takes to get from the previously mentioned state of being to the outstanding artist Shavar is today.
The featured track, ‘I’m Sorry’ is one really uniquely cool and effective way to ask forgiveness of his child. Moreover, to let her know that his commitment to being a father is a task that he is never giving up on. The featured track has a unique introduction the few verses it contains basically give an apology to His daughter for not being there in the past and goes a step further by extending the apology to the child’s future. It has an ‘old school’ feel with a combination of a ‘swaying’ up-beat. Reminds me of a late eighties tune. However, there is absolutely nothing eighties about this song. From the story-line, which is admirable, to the wordplay and metaphorical phrases, which are directly brave, bold and unique. To the way the chorus and verses are structured to describe specific stories in order of occurrence of the artists life.
Everything about this track screams ‘one of a kind!’ This is one interesting song that I know music lovers will enjoy for good listening and motivational uplift as well as to boost the moral. Overall, the audio on the track has good quality. The lyrics make perfect sense and are meaningful and support the actual life and times of the artist.
Furthermore, I believe is the most admirable achievement thus far from a new hip hop artist. Look forward to more music from Shavar in 2015. I am sure he’s ready to go the distance and cross boundaries to produce more meaningful creative music for 2015.

Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
I heard about Exposed Vocals on twitter. I followed your page and was impressed on how y’all operate. I’m an up and coming artist and I wanted to get a chance like everyone else that you work with.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
I grow up in Brooklyn Ny. I was a very rebellious child that was misunderstood due to my parents passing away early in my life. Music is my get away and saved me to get off the streets after being kicked out of schools, homes and later getting shot. My father was a Musicians in the 70’s. He had a group call King Rubin and the Counts. They made 2 song but he use to tell me stories about the life and I told him I will go places one day with music that you didn’t go and I will. WATCH ME!
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Shavar is my middle name and it’s a name Mother gave me and to be honest females love it. It’s different it’s smooth and that’s exactly who I am.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
I think it’s a great tool. The way the world is now we’re barely buying CDs anymore. Technology is growing everyday on the internet. Sharing the music online is the best word the mouth unless you have a connection in the industry. If not support and Share online. YES! I give out free music. I can’t say give me without giving you a sample first. Plus I make ALL my beats I rap on and I sample alot of funk, jazz, soul, r&b and blues and it’s hard to clear samples.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Don’t be scare to fail. Have confidence because if you don’t your not gonna want to do shows and put your all in your music. After your first show you will get BETTER. Just have to find yourself as a person and who ever you are as an artist will come also.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
I’ve never made a mistake on stage. I don’t want to jinx it but if I ever did like drop the mic. I would pick up and continue or if the crowd is very involved. Bring the beat back from the top and let’s keep jamming.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
I’ve never been on tour but when I do Exposed Vocals will get the first interview.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
I need to be in a Great place mentally. I don’t believe in forcing music I will sit around for days until something hits me. And it’s definitely well thought out process. I listen to the beat I want to sample maybe 25 times straight free styling to it until it’s time for me to chop the beat up and make it sound the was I want it to.

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
I made a mixtape in 2013 called confused. Not bad mixtape but I was confused about a lot definitely religion. And I have a lot of music the world will never hear because I’m very embarrassed about them.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Give back homeless shelters and people who need it. I was homeless as child and most of last year. I know what it feels like to not have clean clothes, run down shoes, in the cold with no food. Plus since I’m off the year I would have my daughter with me seeing this is where we could be so don’t take our blessing for granted.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
I’m working on Smile Through My Hard Times. I tried to drop February 15th this year but most likely in March feels a little better and it will come out.

I have something for everyone. I make relatable music that’s timeless. Some people go for now I go for the future.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Blasting your music online is Great but Open Mics is the heart and soul of it. I love putting on a performance. I love to read a crowd and know what they want. But to be honest nothing really worked before because I didn’t have the right music, now I do.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Nas and Dr.Dre. it’s weird because those guys probably won’t put on the most hyped show you might see but without Nas I wouldn’t want to Rap and Dr.Dre is my favorite producer. Dr.Dre beats is amazing That’s why I make beats because of Dr.D.R.E. I feel like I’m a mix of both.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
I will be shooting a short documentary about when I was in the shelter and how I made it out and still remained a Great father and didn’t give up. Videos and more Videos I’m working with my team to push them to make there projects and working with tons of New artist. 2015 I’m working and hopefully another ep end of the year.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
That’s a great question. Probably nursing sounds weird from a Rapper but I’m serious. I was doing cna for about 4 Years and I wanted to go back to school.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Young Jeezy TM101. Its crazy I remember everyone in Brooklyn was talking about him. I left school and walked to the African store and got the cd for $3 and played it all year my bad Jeezy.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
It’s very hard but you can’t give up on your dream. It’s 2:20am est and I have work at 7am I’m not going to get any sleep. Mainly because I have work to do and I LOVE making music. Give up a little sleep hours to get a lot of work done.
