Found in the Inbox: Metro Station Throw a Wedding Party on “Married in Vegas”
In this story
Synth-pop duo Metro Station took “Married in Vegas” literally. The video follows singer Trace Cyrus and actress Brenda Song as they marry at Las Vegas’ Little White Chapel and party through the night with Metro Station partner Mason Musso and drummer Spencer Steffan. The Rive Video Promotion campaign notes the mix of high-quality camera shots with VHS and iPhone footage.
A real pastor, not a real wedding
“As real as the video feels, obviously Brenda and I didn’t really get married during the shoot,” Cyrus said. “It was crazy, though, having the pastor really do the whole ceremony just as he would for a normal wedding.” The shoot ran from evening to sunrise, through a hotel penthouse and down the Strip in a classic Cadillac convertible. “We stayed up all night shooting from the evening till sunrise, having a blast, and I think it really shows in the video.”
A comeback on its third video
Metro Station’s self-titled debut arrived in 2007, with big singles and tours, before a split a couple of years later. Cyrus and Musso reunited in 2013, released The Gold EP in 2014 and the album Savior in 2015. “Married in Vegas” is their third video with Los Angeles directing duo WATTS, after “Love and War” and “She Likes Girls,” and it led into The Savior Tour with Palaye Royale and The Strive in October 2016.
Why it was in the inbox
“Vegas is one of our favorite cities to relax, drink and party every chance we get,” Cyrus said. “The song just made sense for us.”
