New on EV: tkawai, ‘HUMAN B-SIDE’

Please welcome tkawai, the Tokyo-based independent electronic music project of Takashi Kawai. His instrumental compositions, as he describes them, blend experimental electronica, unusual synthesizer textures, unconventional melodies and subtle jazz influences.

His latest album, HUMAN B-SIDE, was released on October 16, 2026, and runs to seven tracks. It returns to musical ideas he first developed between 1985 and 1994, reworking them as alternative arrangements, extended versions and remixes using contemporary production tools. In his own words, the result is “short, strange, and somehow nostalgic.”

The record also has a companion album, HUMAN INSIDE, and both are available on tkawai’s Bandcamp page.
