Found in the Inbox: Kataztrofee Say the Time Is “Now”
In this story
Kataztrofee is the Fort Worth hip-hop duo of Eric “Victory” Johnson and Shannon “Mr Arrogant” Speed. The Rive Video Promotion campaign for “Now” credits their confidence, energy and innovative thinking with setting them apart from newcomers and veterans alike.
A brand from day one
Since the 2013 single “Polo Polo Polo,” the duo has built what the campaign calls an organic movement. “We sought out to build a brand,” Mr Arrogant says. “Years later, we are developing products from wine, to a line of patent pending socks and backpacks, titled Real Swagg.”
Giving back
The two also founded The Kataztrofee Relief Fund to help victims of natural and personal catastrophes get medical care, with a focus on survivors of house fires, a cause rooted in Victory’s own childhood. “It’s time to be great and give back,” Victory says. Musically, the résumé includes tours with 2 Chainz, Juicy J, Big Sean and Tech N9ne and work with Game, French Montana, E-40, Young Dolph and Young Dro.
Why it was in the inbox
The campaign promised “originally swagged out” storytelling with empowering catchphrases. “Now” delivers both.
