Rock powerhouse Evanescence and genre-blending alt-artist K.Flay have officially joined forces on an explosive new single, “Fight Like A Girl,” the first end-title track from the upcoming John Wick spinoff film, Ballerina. Set for release on June 6, the song is already generating serious buzz for its raw energy, emotional grit, and perfectly timed message of feminine resilience and rage.
Fronted by the iconic Amy Lee, Evanescence has long been known for balancing symphonic drama with hard-edged rock, but this time, they’ve taken a sharp turn into darker, cinematic territory. Co-written with K.Flay, producer Dylan Eiland, and the film’s composer Tyler Bates (who’s scored all four John Wick films), the song is tailor-made for the world of assassins, vengeance, and survival. Think pounding drums, industrial textures, and soaring vocals that hit like a gunshot in slow motion.
Speaking on the collab, Amy Lee called it a dream match: “Tyler calling me up to create this song for Ballerina couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I know I’m not the only girl out there ready to dig my heels in and show the world what we’re made of.” She added that bringing K.Flay onboard was essential from the start: “It is literally a dream come true to do this together.”
K.Flay, who’s fresh off a tour, wrote her verse backstage after a show, adrenaline still pulsing through her veins. “Amy sent me the demo and I was immediately so energized, so inspired,” she said. “For me, the film and the song are both about how we channel our pain and how we choose to define ourselves. What separates the hero from the villain?”
That core idea — feminine strength forged in trauma — fits perfectly into the storyline of Ballerina, which stars Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a young assassin in training under the deadly traditions of the Ruska Roma. Set during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the film looks to expand the Wick-verse with its own brutal elegance and character-driven intensity. And based on early press, Ballerina isn’t pulling any punches — emotionally or physically.
“Fight Like A Girl” is more than just a movie tie-in. It’s a sonic battle cry for anyone who’s ever been underestimated, sidelined, or told to shrink. With Amy Lee’s signature vocal power and K.Flay’s razor-sharp delivery, the track promises to be both a soundtrack highlight and a standalone anthem in its own right.
Both the song and the film drop on June 6 — and something tells us the only thing louder than the gunfire will be that final chorus.
