In this story

SCHILLER is the project of Christopher von Deylen, a multi-Gold and Platinum electronic musician, producer and composer who has worked with Colbie Caillat, Sarah Brightman and Lang Lang. After four years, the Rive Video Promotion campaign announced, the wait was over: Future, the ninth SCHILLER studio album, arrived on December 16, 2016 through OK!Good Records.

A fifth No. 1 in Germany

The campaign says Future went straight to the top of the German pop album chart, the fifth SCHILLER album to reach No. 1 at home. Influenced by Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk and Jean-Michel Jarre, the music won a fitting endorsement from Mike Oldfield, who called it “music that moves one really deep inside.”

Between Los Angeles and the Mojave

Von Deylen made the album travelling between Los Angeles and the Mojave Desert, aiming for a “gravity free” record of instrumental tracks matched with guest vocalists, including Kéta, Emma Hewitt, Tawgs Salter, Sheppard Solomon and Lacuna Coil’s Cristina Scabbia. Arlissa sings on two of the 16 tracks, “Paradise” and “Not in Love.” “Time flies so fast, and the future is so precious,” von Deylen says. “I would be happy if ‘Future’ can provide the soundtrack for this journey.”

Why it was in the inbox

The campaign calls Future a film soundtrack without a film. “Not in Love” is the moment it becomes a pop song.
