Bianca Modesti goes for a gorgeous rush into a fully formed world with the delightful wordplay of “Race Against Time”. With a plethora of references written directly into the lyrics the whole of the track has a great sense of reality. Sung with the utmost of power by Bianca Modesti the song virtually demands attention. Quite a clever piece written together by Steven Zammit and Bianca Modesti the entirety of the track feels so alive. The arrangement has a fiery presence to it courtesy of the raw unhinged guitar riffs that have a feral spirit to them. Stylistically they draw from the blues, hard rock, all within a poppy template. Hooks are aplenty as the melodies possess so much richness.
Diving headfirst the song begins with an insistent piano riff. From there her voice opts for a staccato delivery at first. Slowly but surely the track grows and builds up in unexpectedly ways. Her confidence grows as well for the ever-growing number of instruments that filter their way into the mix. With all these colors the track feels akin to a grand portrait of a life lived to the absolute fullest. Refusing to ever let up the way it all comes together is just right, a perfect balance of poignancy and passion. For the final stretch they let it all loose creating a downright joyous ode to true celebration.
“Race Against Time” shows off the impressive voice of Bianca Modesti in exploring a universe that feels uniquely hers.
