Found in the Inbox: Ayron Jones and The Way Say “Love Is The Answer”
In this story
“When my first album dropped it was literally trial by fire,” Ayron Jones says in the Rive Video Promotion campaign for “Love Is The Answer.” “I had gone from playing solo in the corner of some Seattle dive bar, to opening for B.B. King in a matter 4 months.”
Found in a dive bar
Sir Mix-A-Lot heard Jones in a Seattle bar in 2012. “The first thing I found myself asking was, ‘Why hasn’t anybody recorded this guy?’” he told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. “Because that is easily the best talent in Seattle right now.” Jones recorded in Mix-A-Lot’s studio, and the debut LP Dream followed a year later, leading to SXSW, Sasquatch! and Bumbershoot, NPR’s Livewire and a national TV debut on Revolt TV. Ayron Jones and The Way have opened for Run DMC, B.B. King and Jeff Beck.
The band
The Way is Bob Lovelace on bass and Ehssan Kirimi on drums, with Jones on guitar and vocals. The campaign also announced a feature on the Levee Walkers album with Mike McCready, Duff McKagan and Barrett Martin, and a second album, Audio Paint Job, produced by Barrett Martin and Jack Endino.
Why it was in the inbox
“If we want to see a change in our lives, or in the lives of others we must become and project what we wish to see in our world,” Jones says. “Love is The Answer.”
