Found in the Inbox: Audio Push Won’t Be Controlled on “Control Us”
In this story
Audio Push, the West Coast duo signed to Hit-Boy’s Hits Since 87 imprint on Interscope, came back with “Control Us.” The Rive Video Promotion campaign again credits the duo and Hit-Boy with driving Inland Empire hip-hop onto a global stage.
The catalog so far
The campaign recaps the big 2015 releases “Heavy” with OG Maco and “Quick Fast” with Wale, the 2014 Hit-Boy anthem “Grindin’ My Whole Life” and the 2013 mixtape Come As You Are with “Shine,” plus collaborations with Lil Wayne, T.I., Wale, Rick Ross, Joey Bada$$, Method Man, Schoolboy Q, Tyga, Vic Mensa, Travis Scott and Ty Dolla $ign.
Building to the debut
After The Good Vibe Tribe mixtape, featuring OG Maco, Vince Staples and G-Eazy, the campaign says Audio Push was setting the table for a major-label debut album later in the year.
Why it was in the inbox
“Control Us” is a declaration of independence from a duo that already had the cosigns. They wanted the room to move.
