Dance With Me by Rajoch Music Review and Interview
Rajoch is a male pop/dance artist originally born in Cabimas, Venezuela whose musical career developed when he moved to Miami and became well known in the nightclub scene there. This blossomed into music making and this song is part of the already released album Dancing In The Shadows. His music is upbeat contemporary pop with a strong dance edge, that incorporates the exotic rhythms of his native South American roots.
Dance With Me is a prime example of these combined elements, beginning with a catchy synth riff and a thudding four to the floor beat before developing into a rhythmically complex hi hat pattern. Rajoch then enters for the verse, the first minute more of a refrain consisting of ‘Tonight…’ before it proceeds properly, the lyrics uplifting and celebratory, about looking forward to a night out with friends: “The dancefloor is calling me….“.
Rajoch has a distinctive voice due to singing in his Venezuelan accent and this adds a unique sense of personality. It is a voice reminiscent of Chico, an artist who became big in the UK with a similar sound and style, though Rajoch’s voice is more memorable. As the track progressed, I enjoyed the funky, melodic bassline and interweaving electronica melodies.

Overall, this is a great track that boasts excellent production values and has commercial appeal for radio and the perfect sound for the clubs. The Latin American influence adds a nice flavour to the mix and though the song is long at six minutes, it doesn’t drag at all, though perhaps a shorter version might be useful for radio. I can see this version being a huge hit on the dance floor though, and maybe Rajoch is on the way to becoming the next Ricky Martin.

Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

THAT IS A GOOD QUESTION. I DO HAVE A HIGH STANDARD OF DISCIPLINE. I DO NOT BELIEVE WHEN PEOPLE SAY “I DO NOT HAVE TIME”. OFF COURSE SOME TIMES YOU WILL HAVE TO SACRIFICE SOME FUN TIME, BUT HIGH PRODUCTIVITY IS MY PERSONAL SLOGAN.
