U2 have announced the first dates of Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth, a stadium tour launching February 23, 2027 in Mexico City. The announcement also brings a new song, “The Greatest Show On Earth,” co-written with Brian Eno.
Initial dates and ticket information
The first announced dates cover Mexico City on February 23 and 26, São Paulo on March 10 and 12, and Buenos Aires on March 23 and 25. Beck is slated to support these shows. U2 says additional European and North American dates will be revealed later, so fans should not mistake the initial six dates for the whole itinerary.
U2.com subscriber presales begin October 19, with dates and general on-sale schedules varying by market. The group’s official tour page has the latest details.
New music ahead of the next album
“The Greatest Show On Earth” is the third single from the band’s forthcoming sixteenth studio album Carnaval De Luz, expected November 13. Its video is directed by Anton Corbijn. The stadium announcement is a return to that touring format after the band’s 2019 Joshua Tree shows, although the group also performed an extended Las Vegas Sphere residency more recently.
Beyond stadium spectacle
U2’s live identity has long been bound up with the question of how technology can extend a concert without replacing its emotional center. That tension is what makes a large-scale touring announcement creatively interesting, beyond the ticket inventory. A stadium production can make shared songs feel communal—or bury them under spectacle.
EV perspective
The Brian Eno collaboration is also worth watching. His role in the band’s history speaks to a willingness to experiment with structure and atmosphere. For emerging performers the same artistic question appears on smaller stages: does the production help the song communicate, or merely attract attention? Tourgoers should check the band’s official channels for dates and ticket information.
