Trip Head – N.O.M.S.
Trip Head is a four piece metal act from the suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota, a place well known for its diverse and unique music scene. From Prince to American Head Charge, and everything in between and then some, it comes as no surprise that Minneapolis could spawn a band as unique and musically diverse as Trip Head. Creating a sound that is part hardcore, part groove metal, with a touch of just about everything else, Trip Head’s music is always raw and emotional. Between the four members, Trip Head draws their influences from everything in the musical spectrum, a lot of which is apparent in their music.
Trip Head began in late 1999,when Phil and Jesse, brothers and longtime musical partners, started trying to assemble a band. In the following months the line up changed several times, with just a few notable exceptions the band was constantly under construction. With members floating in and out of the band and a host of other problems, it seemed that Trip Head was destined to never get off the ground.
Then entered Jeremy and Mike. Mike, who at the time was playing bass in another band with Phil, originally stepped in as a second guitarist. He recommended Jeremy, his cousin, for the vacant vocalist position and it seemed as though Trip Head was complete. But as it has in the past, Trip Head was about to undergo one final line up change. The bass player at the time had to pursue other options and decided to leave the band. Which left Mike no choice but to jump into the vacated position. Holding down the low end, which is, as he would be the first to tell you, where he is most comfortable.
With the line up finally complete, Trip Head started playing every chance they got and began writing and recording their debut e.p, set to be released the summer of 2002. After years of creation and setback after setback, Trip Head is ready to make their presence known. With no looking back, this year is going to be one hell of a year for Trip Head.
