Raised among the forests of Placerville and Swansboro, Syren found in music what she calls a guardian angel—an outlet, a compass, and a song for every emotion.
Syren’s story begins outdoors: camping, fishing, four-wheeling, and growing up surrounded by Northern California forest. That natural setting still feels present in the way she talks about music—not as decoration, but as something instinctive and necessary.
Exposed Vocals caught up with Syren to talk about the team behind her work, the importance of collaboration, recovering from mistakes onstage, and a dream performance built around the spirit of Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac.

What was it like growing up in Placerville and Swansboro?
I grew up mostly in the forest, so being outdoors was a big part of life—camping, fishing, four-wheeling and spending time in nature. That environment shaped me.
What does music mean to you personally?
Music has been my outlet and my guardian angel. There is a song for every emotion and every situation, and I can’t imagine a life where music isn’t part of it.
What advice would you give an artist building a career?
First: get a DJ Loot! More broadly, build a real team. Network, collaborate, get your music to radio, perform, and remember to enjoy what you’re creating.
How do you handle a mistake during a live performance?
Keep singing, smile and smooth it out. The important thing is to stay connected to the performance instead of letting one moment take you out of it.
Where do you record?
My main studio is in the Bay Area with DJ Loot. That creative partnership and the people around the project are a major part of how the music comes together.
What would your dream performance look like?
Performing with Stevie Nicks in an outdoor, rustic setting. I love the mood and presence of Fleetwood Mac, and bringing that energy into nature would be incredible.
How are you getting the music heard?
Through collaboration, social media, radio, Pandora, and the friends and supporters who keep sharing the work. Every connection helps the music travel farther.
What comes next for Syren?
More writing, more releases and more ways to bring people into the journey—new tracks, performance footage, videos and, ultimately, touring. The goal is to spread love and keep building a genuine community around the music.
Syren’s story ultimately returns to the same place it began: music as something necessary. The team, the studio, the stage plans and the dream collaborations all matter, but the center is still that guardian-angel connection—a song for every emotion and a reason to keep moving forward.
