Sypher – Wallpaper

Sypher was formed in March of 2000 in Sacramento, CA. Early on this group showed talent and diversity with a common goal of writing and performing great music. Over the course of the next two years Sypher played nearly 100 shows throughout Northern California, constantly impressing audiences with an eclectic style and a high-energy live show.
In May of 2001, Sypher released their first full length CD entitled Holding the Flu to enthusiastic fans and great reviews. Mario Perotti of powerslave.com wrote, This band moves at a bouncier clip, breaking the sound up and down into the right direction, rarely stopping to pick up the pieces of the song, preferring to move forward with their song’s chosen landscape.

Early in 2002 Sypher was reborn when Chris Schnell (bass) and Justin Park (drums) joined original members Billy Strange (vocals) and Jeff Dean (guitar). This new blood provided a fresh insight and influence to the band. They have a new focus and enthusiasm, always opting to look forward to the future rather than dwell in the past.
