Found in the Inbox: T-Pain Gets Married to the Music on “Officially Yours

T-Pain first played “Officially Yours” once, at an NPR Upfront concert in November 2015, and fans asked for it ever since. The Rive Video Promotion campaign delivered it on February 12, 2016, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

A wedding song

Produced by The Internz, the song carries a wedding photo of T-Pain and his wife Amber on its cover. The lyric video is built mostly from wedding footage and photos fans sent in, couples “across all orientations” on their big day. The Fader, reviewing the live debut, wrote that “T-Pain puts his entire body behind the track’s vocals.”

The numbers

The campaign set the song up for the album Stoicville: The Phoenix on Nappy Boy Entertainment, Konvict Muzik and RCA Records, and listed the career so far: two Grammy wins and 11 nominations, more than 16 million albums and 50 million digital tracks sold, 12 No. 1 singles and 60 top-ten singles. People called T-Pain “one of the most influential figures in contemporary R&B/Hip Hop whether as a solo artist, a featured guest or a producer.”
