“Angie,” the new bassbin-rattling Prok | Fitch single for Solardo’s Sola imprint, extends the tech-house masters’ recent winning streak, which includes their hard-hitting Seagulls EP on Relief Records and their amped-up remix of Green Velvet’s “La La Land.” A rhythmic juggernaut featuring cascading high-hats, pummeling drum rolls, a warped synth line that weaves in an out, and a hypnotic vocal loop, “Angie” artfully stops and starts in key spots but is relentless from beginning to end. It is certain to return them to the top of Beatport’s charts where the duo has become a welcome fixture.
“The Solardo boys had been asking us for a record so we went back and forth on Angie (we realize this can be taken grossly out of context haha) over the past year constantly improving the record, we felt we could squeeze some magic out of it. We finally nailed it a few weeks ago and tested it at CRSSD festival in the states and the reaction was huge! The original makes its premiere today via MixMag, while the single includes a “Big Ange” remix by Manchester’s Mason Maynard. “Solardo asked me to do a remix for Prok | Fitch, which was obviously a huge opportunity to put my name on some massive work on a big label.”
Familiar and beloved faces at Sankeys, Amnesia, Ministry of Sound, Ultra Music Festival and EDC, and the Brighton U.K. The Prok | Fitch duo kicked off their “Insights” World Tour on September 30, with a set at Las Vegas’ AFTER Terrace Afterhours. On October 1st, they joined heavyweights Ritchie Hawtin, Chromeo, Hot Since 82, The Black Madonna, Patrick Topping, and others at at San Diego’s CRSSD Festival. On November 5th, they will join Dennis Ferrer, Roger Sanchez, Technasia and Carlo Lio at Aruba’s Love Festival. The pair will also hit Australia, England, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico and Thailand on the “Insights” Tour, named for a theme as yet to be revised.
