Perfume Genius and Aldous Harding Team Up for the Wildly Unhinged “No Front Teeth”
Perfume Genius is back, and this time, he’s brought along the enigmatic Aldous Harding for a track that’s as raw as it is theatrical. “No Front Teeth” is the latest single from his upcoming album Glory—and let’s just say, it’s not your typical indie duet.
With a title that sounds like it could belong to a punk anthem or a lost blues classic, “No Front Teeth” is a chaotic, electrifying ride that blends Perfume Genius’ signature vulnerability with an off-kilter energy that feels straight out of a fever dream. And the music video? Oh, it’s something else entirely.
Directed by Cody Critcheloe—the mastermind behind Perfume Genius’ iconic “Queen” video—the visuals for “No Front Teeth” are equal parts bizarre and brilliant. It’s got everything: disjointed choreography, wildly expressive performances, and a playful absurdity that only these two artists could pull off. Watching Perfume Genius and Aldous Harding move through this surreal world feels like peeking into a private performance where the rules of conventional storytelling don’t apply.
And then there’s the music itself. “No Front Teeth” is built on an intoxicating mix of dramatic piano, haunting vocals, and a rhythm that never quite settles. It’s theatrical, unexpected, and utterly compelling—much like the artists behind it. Perfume Genius has always had a knack for blending high drama with emotional depth, and with Aldous Harding’s ethereal energy in the mix, the result is pure magic.
This is the second single off Glory, following the release of “It’s a Mirror,” and it’s shaping up to be an album that refuses to be boxed in. Produced by Blake Mills (who’s worked with everyone from Fiona Apple to Laura Marling), Glory promises to push Perfume Genius into bold new territory while keeping his signature mix of beauty and rawness intact.
With a North American tour set to kick off in May, fans won’t have to wait too long to experience the full Glory of this new era. Until then, “No Front Teeth” is here to remind us why Perfume Genius remains one of the most thrilling, unpredictable forces in music today.
Check out the wild ride that is “No Front Teeth” below, and brace yourself for Glory when it drops on March 28 via Matador Records.
