What it is: The 7th ISAC International Popular & Media Music Composition Competition is accepting original songs and instrumental, pop, jazz, computer-produced, film and game music. Ise-Shima Art Company in Japan organizes the call.
Who can enter: Composers worldwide, with no age restriction; the application requires legal representative consent for minors. Each work must have exactly one composer; separate lyricists, arrangers, singers, performers and recording or production collaborators are permitted. Joint compositions, covers and arrangement-only or remix-only works are ineligible. Previously released works are welcome unless that work has already won a Grand or Special Prize in this competition.
Deadline and fees: Complete both the application and payment by 31 January 2027, 23:59 GMT. Entry costs JPY 5,000 per work through 17 January, 23:59 GMT, rising to JPY 7,000 from 18 January, 00:00 GMT. Optional consolidated jury feedback adds JPY 5,000 per work. Separate works require separate applications and fees; payment is by card or PayPal.
What to submit: An audio or video recording URL accessible without a login, password or individual approval. Keep the same recording available at the same URL until results. A score, lyrics or work-description PDF is optional.
Prizes and rights: The Grand Prize fund totals JPY 100,000, normally for one work; if shared by two, each receives JPY 50,000. Approximately 35 Special Prizes carry certificates, subject to judging. Results are planned for 28 February 2027. Copyright stays with rights holders, but awarded works carry a royalty-free, non-exclusive license for competition publicity and documentation. Entrants must clear all necessary contributor and recording rights.
