In this story

Mykell Vaughn is a singer, rapper and songwriter from Kansas City, Missouri. The Rive Video Promotion campaign for “She Don’t Wanna” says older family members brought music in early, and uncles nicknamed the young performer “Little Master P” for that star quality. The first recording came at age 8.

Universal by design

Master P, 2Pac and Nelly were the biggest influences. “I can create music for all genres and all age groups,” Mykell says. “I just want to make people feel good.”

On tour with T-Pain

In 2014 Mykell opened shows on T-Pain’s Drankin’ Patna Tour and released the singles “Man in My City” featuring Rocko and “All Dat” featuring Problem, before “She Don’t Wanna.”

Why it was in the inbox

“She Don’t Wanna” is a feel-good record from an artist who has been performing since grade school.
