Found in the Inbox: ARASH and Snoop Dogg Say “OMG”
In this story
The Rive Video Promotion campaign calls ARASH the “Persian Prince of Pop,” and “OMG” adds Snoop Dogg to a list of collaborators that already included Sean Paul, T-Pain and Shaggy. The song was written and produced with Alex P, Robert Uhlmann and Viktor Svensson and released on May 20, 2016 as the first single from ARASH’s fifth album.
From “Boro Boro” to world tours
ARASH is a Platinum-selling Swedish singer and producer, with music certified gold in many European countries. The 2005 debut album Arash, on Warner Music Sweden, produced “Boro Boro” and “Temptation,” whose videos played on more than 35 MTV outlets. “Boro Boro” appeared in the Bollywood film Bluffmaster, which also gave ARASH a screen cameo, and that year the International Music Market in Cannes named ARASH Sweden’s most successful debut artist.
A border breaker
Singing in Farsi on solo releases and in English with international stars, ARASH is, the campaign says, the only artist of Persian heritage to release four albums and thirty singles that topped charts around the world. The awards include a European Border Breakers Award, Best International Artist at the Big Apple Awards and two Russian Grammys. Before “OMG,” ARASH had just returned from a world tour for the album Superman, with sold-out dates in the USA, Asia and Europe.
Why it was in the inbox
Few pop careers cross this many borders. “OMG” adds a West Coast legend to the map.
