A brighter doorway into Slipstream
Released September 4, “ANGELITE” is the second single from Mystic Tea Party’s debut album, Slipstream, due in October. A restless breakbeat and deep bass give the track forward motion while Blume’s layered vocals keep its center soft and dreamlike.
The title refers to a stone associated with communication and intuition. The song imagines an unseen force drawing two people together, gradually lowering their defenses and teaching them how to meet each other’s emotional needs.
Independent from first note to final master
Mystic Tea Party is the Melbourne partnership of vocalist Blume and producer Sebastian Walach. The pair write, record, produce, mix and master their work themselves, preserving a direct line between the first idea and the finished release.
Their wider palette reaches back to the alternative music of the 1990s and early 2000s, pulling trip-hop, downtempo, dream pop and electronic rock into a sound that is both atmospheric and rhythmically insistent.
Making space through the music
Blume is an intersex woman building visibility for intersex artists within an industry where that perspective remains underrepresented.
