Mystic Tea Party Release “AIYO DAEA” Ahead of Debut Album Slipstream

Mystic Tea Party have released “AIYO DAEA,” the final single before the Melbourne duo’s debut album Slipstream. Released October 2, the track arrives as the band pushes its self-produced alternative sound toward a faster, more electronic edge.

In materials supplied through the band’s official press drive, Mystic Tea Party describe the song as a 140 BPM collision of breakbeats, drum-and-bass energy, heavy low end, manipulated vocals and ambient guitar. Rather than settling into a clean genre label, the release is presented as a preview of the movement across rock, electronica, trip-hop and pop that shapes Slipstream.

A final turn before Slipstream

“AIYO DAEA” follows “Flame” and “Angelite” in the album rollout. The band’s press materials report that “Flame” received airplay on triple j, while “Angelite” appeared on the triple j Unearthed playlist alongside an Unearthed Artist Spotlight selection.

That sequence gives the new single a specific job: it does not simply introduce another song, but widens the frame around the album before its arrival. Mystic Tea Party are using the final pre-album release to emphasize rhythm, atmosphere and the refusal to keep their music inside one lane.

Built independently in Melbourne

Mystic Tea Party is led by vocalist Blume and producer Sebastian Walach. The duo write, record, produce and mix their own material, while also directing the visual identity around each release. Their broader sound draws from alternative rock, trip-hop, shoegaze, dream pop and electronic production.

Slipstream is scheduled for release in October 2026. “AIYO DAEA” is available now through the band’s official release page.
