Liam Gallagher Reacts to Oasis’ 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Nomination in Classic Fashion
British rock legends Oasis have officially been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2025, and, in true Liam Gallagher fashion, the band’s outspoken frontman had a few choice words about the honor.
Initially, Liam dismissed the Hall of Fame outright, responding to a fan’s inquiry with, “RNR hall of fame is for WANKERS.” But as only Liam can do, he quickly flipped the script when asked how he would react if Oasis were inducted. “Obv go and say it’s the best thing EVER,” he quipped.
Doubling down on his signature blend of arrogance and humor, Liam later elaborated, “I’m gonna go and pick up the award and say I’ll let you off, this is a wonderful honor and I’d like to thank all of the GODS, starting with MYSELF.”
A History of Contempt for the Rock Hall
Liam’s latest comments are a slight softening of his stance compared to past years. In 2024, when rumors of Oasis’ eligibility first surfaced, he dismissed the institution entirely, calling it “a load of bollox” and “full of BUMBACLARTS.” It seems that, despite his initial resistance, the idea of being honored alongside rock’s elite isn’t entirely lost on the singer.
A Big Year for Oasis Fans
The nomination is just one of several major developments for Oasis this year. Amid ongoing speculation about a reunion, reports have surfaced that the band is planning a comeback tour after a 15-year hiatus. The tour will allegedly kick off in the UK and Ireland before expanding globally, giving fans a long-awaited chance to see the legendary Britpop act live once more.
The Hall of Fame class of 2025 also includes heavy hitters like Mariah Carey, Phish, Soundgarden, Bad Company, Cyndi Lauper, and OutKast, setting up a diverse and highly anticipated induction ceremony later this year in Los Angeles.
Will Noel Join the Party?
One major question remains: If Oasis is inducted, would Liam’s estranged brother and band co-founder Noel Gallagher be willing to share the stage? The two have been locked in one of rock’s most infamous sibling feuds since Oasis’ explosive split in 2009, with frequent jabs exchanged through the press and social media.
Liam seems ready to embrace the moment—at least in his own way—but whether Noel will follow suit is another story. Fans will have to wait and see if this Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nod will be the moment that brings the Gallagher brothers back together, or if Liam will be accepting the honor solo, mic in one hand and swagger in full effect.
