Atlanta-based Pop/R&B artist Jadon-Li returns this November 20 with his most emotionally charged release yet — “Let It Go”, the lead single from his upcoming album Ghost Town. Jadon-Li: It came out of an argument with my family that pushed me past my limit. I realized the love I’d been chasing my whole life was never real. I grew up believing love had to be earned, and that mindset became a chain. Writing this song was me breaking that chain.

Exposed Vocals: You describe the track as marking the point where ‘freedom becomes the only honest choice.’ What does that line mean to you today?

Jadon-Li: It means I stopped trying to be who they wanted me to be. I had to unlearn the belief that love meant control or sacrifice. Now, freedom means living as myself.

Exposed Vocals: Ghost Town is being called your most vulnerable project yet. What emotions or themes are you confronting?

Jadon-Li: Loneliness, resentment, forgiveness, self-worth. I’m facing my younger self and the pain that shaped me. No metaphors. Just the truth.

Exposed Vocals: Was there a moment that made you realize this project was different from your past work?

Jadon-Li: Yes — when I wrote A Way Out and Chains. I wasn’t chasing validation anymore. I was finally allowing myself to be broken and angry. My songs stopped being a diary and became direct letters.

Jadon-Li: MTM gave me a community that listens. Collaboration doesn’t mean losing yourself — it means finding people who amplify your story.

Exposed Vocals: What was the energy like at your recent MTM Encore performance?

Jadon-Li: Emotional. Performing Let It Go live felt like exhaling. People finally saw me for more than what I look like. They connected with the message.

Exposed Vocals: Your music leans into ‘the messier sides of being human.’ How do you balance healing and vulnerability?

Jadon-Li: I don’t think there is a balance — that is the balance. Music is the only place I can tell the truth and turn something ugly into something beautiful.

Jadon-Li: Atlanta pushes me to grow. There’s every genre here — but my challenge has been carving my own lane. I don’t fit neatly into one box.

Jadon-Li: That even when the world makes you feel unworthy of love, you still are. Letting go doesn’t mean giving up on yourself — it means giving up on them.

Jadon-Li: I take life as it comes and turn it into music. Whatever chapter God has for me, that’s what I’ll create from.
