Day 4 of “307 DAYS” Featured Artists: J SHOGREN

J Shogren, a staple in our little music community of Wyoming, hails from Centennial, WY. What scientists and scholars have deemed as the last known sighting of the Garden of Eden. Beautiful area where J creates beautiful music. I know people got a story for all of their songs, but J has his family’s history soaked into every note. I used to obsessively listen to a song of his “Swampland” about his grand father going off to WWI. You can find treasures of lyrics in all of J’s music.

I think of our Wyoming artist community as a biblical story. If Shawn Hess and Hunter Hicks are the Kane and Abel of Wyoming music, Jalan Crossland is Zachariah, Jason Tyler Burton is Methuselah, of course Jason Burge is the wise prophet Ezekiel, what does that make J Shogreen? The Godfather to Wyoming music.

[ In Wyoming, we only have one area code and that’s (307). It’s a sign you’re getting a call from a good friend, your worst enemy, or maybe your favorite watering hole reminding you your tab is due. In the spirit of good friends, Western AF is proud to announce “307 Days.” A celebration if you will of Wyoming artists.
