The former B-Girls punk musician teams up with Kabumi and Kudos Lokey on a Deep House single about radical compassion.
Ananda Xenia Shakti’s path runs from punk rock with The B-Girls to devotional music recorded with Love Power the Band. Her next single takes another turn. “A Revolution in Love,” released November 6 through MTS Records, is a Deep House track produced with Kabumi and Kudos Lokey.
Love as a revolutionary idea
The campaign frames the single around a question: what if love were not just an emotion but a revolution? The lyrics, according to the release materials, move through suffering, transformation, freedom and shared humanity, ending on love as the most radical force available.
That theme connects directly to the music EV has covered this year. “Devotion” traced a hard night during a silent retreat in India, and “The Perfumed Garden” grew out of time spent with Baul devotional singers from Bengal.
A different setting for the same message
What changes here is the setting. Pulsing electronic rhythm replaces the band arrangements of her devotional releases, and the campaign targets Deep House, electronic, chillout and conscious-music programming.
The production credit is shared between Kabumi, Kudos Lokey and Shakti herself, keeping her in the producer’s chair as the sound moves somewhere new.
