Biography
Formed in July 2001 by lead singer Chris Shewmaker & bassist Tony Lee with the idea of creating a more melodic style of band than the former Killcycle. They began with a vision, a fruity loops program, an old guitar, and amp of Tony’s.Flatlyne started as a band with a goal to take their music to the next level and to push themselves harder then ever before.Now, two years later those goals are reality.A combination of melodic melodies and lyrics, modern heavy guitars,consistant drumming, and in your face bass gives FLATLYNE their own unique style.Todd Nelson joined the band soon afterwards, bringing with him, his solid playing style and experience. The band released hundreds of copies their six song EP in early 2002 when they recorded at Mom’s Music in Jeffersonville, with Max Maxwell on the mixing board.Joe Gilliam joined forces with FLATLYNE in late 2002, bringing with him a unique sound, and an energetic perfomance.Since then they played consistant shows in Louisville and other surrounding regional areas creating great hype & attention and constant radio play by requests on WTFX 100.5 & WLRS 105.1 during local music hours which created a strong dedicated fan base with their music along with great stage performances live.The band has recorded their 2nd C.D. back at Mom’s, with the help of a well known and talented drummer named Ryan Murphy from the band End Of Me. They have been through a couple of drummers as of late but after a long search & numerous attempts to find the right drummer they not only completed the last peice to the Flatlyne family but found a talented, and acomplished drummer named Terry Harper from Louisville.They continue writing and hope to finish their 2nd C.D very soon in time for a early 2004 release and hope to create world wide attention in the music industry with record labels.With experience from the band ranging from 9 to 15 years and each member in the past sharing the stage with artists like Kid Rock,Hatebreed, Flaw,Outspoken,Primer 55,Dope,Twiztid,Chimaria as the list goes on Flatlyne is on a mission to increase their horizons by creating a promotional rampage hopefully creating new listeners and earning new fans to expand their well known fan base in Louisville & other regional areas.Thanks for the support.
