Benjamine Lee: I grew up in Richmond California, My parents were always into music. My dad is the head musician for my church and my mom is a choir singer, so i wanted to do music for a living but i didn’t want to follow their footsteps.

Ben: I used my real name for my stage name. Before i was known as “KayzTheKid” but over time i realized that i’m not a kid anymore. . if i want people to remember me for my music then they will remember me for me, not for a stage name.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Ben: I think online music sharing is a good way to build connections and a fan base. Yes i give my music away for free because i see no point in charging fans that just want to share my music with others. . Maybe one day when i’m known a little more, then i’ll start charging.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Ben: My advice will be . . keep pushing, keep creating, and keep hustling . .

Ben: I usually share my music on Soundcloud, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube.

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
