Doctor Seco Brings Mis dos mitades Into a New Frame

A song can acquire another chapter without becoming a new recording. Doctor Seco’s “Mis dos mitades” originally appeared on Heridas favoritas in 2023. Its newly shared video gives the song a visual conclusion to that album’s creative period, bringing choreography, a period-inspired ensemble setting and a collaborative film production into the story. IdentiRap sent the project to Exposed Vocals as part of its support for independent artists.

An older song, a new visual setting

The campaign describes the music as drawing on the swing and jazz bands of the 1920s while using a modern approach. That is the release’s stated aesthetic, rather than a claim based on an Exposed Vocals listening review. It provides a practical frame for the video: the piece connects the idea of a vintage musical ensemble with contemporary filming and performance.

Isabela Ruiz is the central performer and choreographer. The project’s authorization document also credits her with costume work and participation in the script, alongside Doctor Seco, Roberto Ruiz and filmmaker Eduardo del Cuvillo Bernal. These responsibilities make the video’s movement and presentation part of its authorship, rather than decoration applied after the song was finished.

The people who built the scene

The supplied project document identifies Doctor Seco as David Rochera. Roberto Ruiz of Sono Studios is credited with music, guitar and musical production; Vanessa Mercado contributes voice and piano, Sofía Cardona plays double bass, Pedro Marcian (Baker) plays drums, and Anna Pecadito contributes trumpet and costume work. Those credits place the scene within a concrete musical and production team.

Roberto Ruiz, David Rochera and Andrés Ruiz handled production. Eduardo del Cuvillo Bernal of 5Mediafilms directed, operated the camera and edited the piece. The accompanying image features Isabela Ruiz within the ensemble setting and was sent by IdentiRap after Exposed Vocals requested publication permission. Rochera’s October 7 authorization covers the project’s promotional images and audiovisual material.

A wider creative practice

The campaign places this video alongside Doctor Seco’s earlier album Sonrisas inacabadas from 2016, the book Elegante desorden from 2019 and his involvement with the podcast Merienda de necios. Those different formats give the latest video context: this is an artist moving between songs, written work and conversation, with a film now returning attention to an existing album track.

According to the supplied release, Doctor Seco is also working on new songs. No new album date was provided, so the current focus remains the public “Mis dos mitades” video. Watch it through the official YouTube link and follow the artist’s Instagram for updates. The profile and IdentiRap campaign page connect those public routes with this introduction.
