Baldy Crawlers announced Boy for January 9, 2026 on MTS Records. Martin Maudal wrote and produced the song, explaining in the supplied account that its chords and emotional atmosphere arrived before a fixed interpretation. That openness is central to the campaign: listeners are invited to find their own meaning rather than solve a predetermined story. Elizabeth Hangan sings lead, with Maudal and Norrel Thompson supplying harmonies. The instrumental credits include Marc Weller on guitar, Carl Byron on Hammond B3 and Ross Schodek on bass, alongside Maudal’s acoustic guitar and drums. The recording continues the project’s connection between handcrafted instruments and introspective songwriting. Its December announcement and January release-day message document the same single.

Baldy Crawlers is the folk-Americana project of Martin Maudal, a songwriter, producer and luthier raised in Claremont, California. A Berklee College of Music graduate, he founded Maudal Musical Machines and builds electric resonator guitars used in his work. His experience also includes time in the New York music scene. Recordings include Bring Me a Flower and Boy, the latter featuring lead vocalist Elizabeth Hangan. The project takes its name from Mount Baldy and connects instrument craftsmanship with open-ended, introspective songwriting.
