The Door Jam Records Demo Policy
At Door Jam Records, we don't care about follower counts, algorithmic hype, or pristine studio polish. We care about raw energy, honesty, and whether your music makes us want to turn the volume up. Because we are a small, independent team, we have a few guidelines to keep the process fun and manageable for everyone.
1. What We Are Looking For
Genres: Indie rock, post-punk, neo-soul, garage pop, lo-fi hip-hop, shoegaze, and alternative folk.
Vibe: Music with character. We love rough mixes, bleeding room mics, and distinct vocal identities over hyper-processed perfection.
Format: Unlisted streaming links only (SoundCloud, Bandcamp, or private YouTube/Drive links). No massive MP3 email attachments, please!
2. How to Submit
We keep our submission window open during specific times of the year, or via special drop events.

Subject Line Format: DEMO: [Band/Artist Name] - [Genre] - [2026]
The Pitch: Keep it brief! Tell us who you are, where you're based, a link to your social media or local scene involvement, and no more than 3 tracks.
3. The Door Jam Rules (Read Before Sending)
No Physical Demos in the Mail: Do not mail us flash drives, hard drives, or CDs jammed in envelopes. (We once received a demo locked inside a literal miniature wooden door, which was funny, but our PO box can't handle the bulk!).
Listen First: Make sure your music actually fits the indie/alternative wheelhouse of our roster before sending.
Patience is a Virtue: Because we are a tiny team, we listen to everything we receive, but we can only reply if there's mutual interest. If you don't hear back within 60 days, assume it's a pass for now—keep pushing forward!
A Note From A&R: "If your recording sounds like it was tracked in a garage with a leaky roof while a thunderstorm raged outside, you're probably sending it to the right place."
