Trial of A$AP Rocky

Inside the Courtroom: A$AP Rocky’s Legal Team Fights Back as Shooting Case Inches Forward

Los Angeles, CA – The high-profile criminal case against A$AP Rocky continues to simmer behind closed doors as new filings and legal maneuvering dominate the latest phase of the proceedings.

While the chart-topping rapper remains free on bond, his legal team has taken an aggressive stance in court, filing a series of motions to dismiss the charges stemming from a 2021 Hollywood shooting involving former A$AP Mob affiliate A$AP Relli (Terell Ephron).

Court records show Rocky’s attorneys are challenging both the sufficiency of the evidence and the credibility of the alleged victim. In one motion, they argue that the case rests heavily on “a single disputed account” and lacks definitive forensic proof. They also raise concerns over possible bias or ulterior motives behind Relli’s cooperation with law enforcement.

However, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office isn’t backing down. Prosecutors responded by reaffirming their confidence in the case, citing partial surveillance footage, ballistics testing, and witness statements they believe point clearly to Rocky’s involvement.

A court hearing earlier this month revealed that both sides are still wrangling over discovery and pretrial admissibility. The judge has yet to issue rulings on the dismissal motions, but has urged both parties to prepare for a formal preliminary hearing in early 2023, where evidence will be publicly scrutinized for the first time.
