Found in the Inbox: Calla Brings “Halfway” Into Focus With an Official Video
For Calla, “Halfway” begins with a question of clarity: what happens when one person wants a relationship to become a commitment and the other leaves it undefined? The Texas-born singer-songwriter introduced the single on September 18 as the lead release from her forthcoming EP, Between 10PM & 4. Now an official video adds another part to that story.
In the release announcement, Calla describes the song as her opportunity to tell her own version of a relationship. That perspective gives the campaign its central idea: asking for more can mean naming what is missing, rather than accepting uncertainty as a permanent arrangement.
A songwriter shaped by movement
Raised in Richmond, Texas, Calla began voice lessons as a child and developed as a performer through dance and songwriting. She moved to Nashville at eighteen and later appeared on Season 24 of The Voice on Gwen Stefani’s team. Her background brings songwriting and physical performance into the same creative practice.
The announced EP extends the conversation beyond a single relationship. Written largely by Calla, independently or with collaborator Elizabeth Evans, Between 10PM & 4 explores independence, faith and self-discovery alongside relationships. “Halfway” introduces that larger project through one direct question: what does it mean to ask someone to meet you fully?
