In this story

Progressive rock can make room for an argument as well as a story. Transgalactica’s Joyce Of The Market brings those ambitions together through a personal comparison between Ireland and Poland. Rediscovered in the promotional inbox, the track comes from Better Angels and was promoted with a February13, 2026 impact date. It is an existing release to revisit, rather than an upcoming single.

The Kraków father-and-son duo of Tomasz and Filip Bieroń describe the song as a tribute to modern Ireland’s economic development, presented through the parallel histories of their two countries. The wordplay in the title connects James Joyce with the joys of the market. That economic interpretation is the band’s position, giving the lyrics a point of view for listeners to consider rather than a neutral account of national history.

The musical references are equally specific. In the supplied notes, the duo explain that they used two themes from the Irish national anthem, moving them from major into minor. They also identify a passage of fifths as a nod to Genesis’s The Lamia and a reference to Deep Purple’s Perfect Strangers in the rock section of the second stanza. Those details reveal the compositional choices behind a recording promoted across symphonic, progressive and folk rock.

Tomasz’s other work helps explain the project’s interest in ideas and language. A literary translator, he has brought writers including Virginia Woolf, Saul Bellow, Umberto Eco and Arundhati Roy into Polish. The campaign biography traces the musical project to 2021, when Filip encouraged his father to begin writing music. Tomasz’s encounter with Steven Pinker’s books The Better Angels of Our Nature and Enlightenment Now supplied an important conceptual influence.

The biography also places this release within a period of revisiting earlier material with new vocals from Chilean musician Lukky Sparxx. Rather than treating a recording as a fixed endpoint, that process allows the duo to reconsider how their compositions and arguments are delivered. The campaign mentioned a second album, Onwards And Upwards, but its historical plans should not be mistaken for a current release announcement.

Joyce Of The Market offers a focused entry point into that larger practice: family collaboration, borrowed musical themes, translation and an explicitly stated worldview. Its official video is linked below, giving listeners a way to meet the work directly. The most useful starting question is how those different histories and influences find space inside one four-minute-and-thirty-eight-second song.
