A second week at the summit

Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” has held No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a second consecutive week, according to Billboard’s October 12 chart report. The result extends the single’s run after it opened at the top last week as Swift’s 16th Hot 100 leader.

The latest update supplies a more useful measure than launch-week excitement alone: the song remains at the summit through another chart cycle. That does not make every measure of its performance identical, and it should not be treated as proof that Swift leads every chart or platform.

Two other movements worth watching

The same week brings a top-five arrival for Drake and Don Toliver’s “Solar Eclipse” and a breakthrough for ADÉLA. InMusic’s October 12 roundup places “Solar Eclipse” at No. 5 and “Nicole Kidman” at No. 9, marking ADÉLA’s first Hot 100 top 10.

InMusic connects Swift’s current single with the September 25 deluxe release The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. It places Drake and Don Toliver’s track within the October 2 expansion of HABIBTI. Those details give the chart movement a release-calendar context: established projects can gain renewed attention when additional material arrives.

ADÉLA’s milestone adds a different story to the same chart. A first top 10 is an identifiable career marker, even when the artist at No. 1 commands more of the headline space.

Read the chart as a snapshot

This article concerns the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 update reported on October 12. It is a weekly chart result, not a live count of streams or a prediction of next week’s rankings. For listeners, the three movements offer a concise picture of the current conversation: continued strength at the top, a high-profile collaboration entering strongly, and an emerging artist reaching a new threshold.
