Sorrowsight’s Share My Despair Maps Six Forms of Loss

Sorrowsight Share My Despair album artwork

Despair does not arrive in a single form on Sorrowsight’s Share My Despair. The Odesa band’s six-track album, released June 20, 2026 through DI Records, gives each song a different source of pressure: time, humanity’s destructiveness, corruption, illness, mortality and grief. September’s campaign brought that structure into the Exposed Vocals inbox, offering a specific entry point into a Ukrainian group built around the contrast between violin, heavy guitars and female extreme and clean vocals.

Six songs, distinct perspectives

The supplied materials place “Before It’s Night” at the beginning of the sequence, with passing time and lost opportunity as its subject. “Human Plague” moves into violence, greed and recurring conflict, while “Decay of Virtue” turns toward institutional and moral corruption. These are the campaign’s descriptions of the songs, rather than an independent listening verdict. What they establish is a deliberate progression from personal urgency into broader social damage.

The second half brings those pressures closer to the body. “Contaminari (Carcinomatous)” addresses the psychological shock of terminal illness. “Verge of Death” explores the threshold between life and death, and “Mournful Void” closes with remembrance and enduring love. The publicity describes cello, trombone and choir in that final track, adding another instrumental dimension to a band whose violin is already central to its melodic identity.

A shared vision recorded across distance

Guitarist and composer Pavlo Korovchuk wrote the music throughout 2025. Mariia Diachenko shaped much of the lyrical narrative; the supplied credits identify shared writing on “Contaminari,” with Korovchuk credited for “Verge of Death.” That division of work is part of the album’s construction, connecting the musical sequence to the changing perspectives in its lyrics.

Guitars and bass were recorded in home studios, with vocals and violin captured in the studio. DI Records’ materials say the musicians worked closely despite not holding full-band rehearsals during the sessions. Yurii Zabelin recorded, mixed and mastered the album at Leta Studio. The six songs run 30 minutes and 41 seconds, allowing the emotional arc to remain compact without making every track serve the same mood.

The band behind the record

Korovchuk and Diachenko founded Sorrowsight in Odesa in 2019. Violinist Natalia Bakhtina and drummer Mykyta Pushkin appear in the album credits, with bass contributions from Dragoș-Bohdan and Artur Pholax. Earlier releases include Cruel World and Enlightenment in 2021 and Essence of Existence in 2024.
