Blasting through the establishment’s twisted goals with incisive lyrics and raucous tunes, The Refusers perform songs of musical defiance. The Refusers speak today’s spirit of rage and simmering revolution against the establishment.

In light of the recent events stemming from the election, mainstream media has seemingly been exposed as misrepresented, phony and wrong. Mainstream media TV networks and newspapers are owned by a handful of big corporations that parrot government weasel-speak and the agenda of their advertisers. The US presidential election campaign has unearthed widespread discontent with the economy and the government. The Refusers have tapped into this spirit in protest with the release of their new video for
“You Won’t Read It In The New York TImes”.

Long before the current freewheeling battle for the soul of America’s future, Michael Belkin, singer/songwriter of high energy Seattle based band, The Refusers, started writing provocative, blistering songs for the newly aware masses. Their current album, Wake Up America, features 15 socially conscious tracks and is Belkin’s declaration of war on mind-numbing pop music.

The Refusers are a high-energy rock band that performs rousing protest songs tinged with humor, satire and biting lyrics. Their music is powered by growling guitar, pounding drums, slapping bass and catchy hooks that blend elements of rock, funk and reggae into a sound that is hard-driving, accessible, informative, and addictive.
