Wiremouth – Eye
Change, renewal, redemption, rebirth. That’s what the upcoming album, “Angel Wings Torn Away”, means to Syracuse rockers Wiremouth. The album is a blistering storm of emotions in which each element is a vital key. Starting off with the precise and explosive drumming of Josh Aller, adding in the deep, powerful bass lines of Joe Lupia, joined with the beautiful and brutal melodies expressed by guitarist Jake Hedges, and coming together with the intense, heartfelt vocals from Tim Paige, Wiremouth is more than just the cliche “well-oiled machine.” They are the unstoppable superbeast of sorts, destroying the norm with their crisp, heavy, refreshing metal sound that resembles something formed when Killswitch Engage, Slipknot, Glassjaw, and Coal Chamber got together and had a foursome.
“It’s about taking a stance in a world where no one wants to accept you,” says lead vocalist Tim Paige. The music is brutally honest and angrily heavy, while keeping a melodic, beautiful tone. The tracks on the album reflect the different emotional changes Paige experiences on a daily basis. Almost anyone can relate to the lyrics that Paige writes – tales of heartbreak, loss, rejection, hate, and change. The music leaves nothing to be desired and the band’s extremely intense live shows are something to behold. The band releases all of its pent up emotions onstage. They are energetic, emotional, and highly interactive. It is rare to see a crowd not jumping when Wiremouth is onstage. Wiremouth fans are extremely devoted – often found standing outside venues to listen to shows if they are underage or broke – and quickly become like family.
Writing and performing the music is a therapy for the band members. “We never feel more comfortable then when we’re onstage together,” guitarist Jake Hedges states, “That’s what we were born to do.” After already having gained a huge, faithful following and earning the opening slot for MCA recording artists Nonpoint, Maverick recording artists Stage, and Medea recording artists Too Many Gods after only one year, the band is invading peoples’ homes all across America. Get ready, because Wiremouth won’t be held back. With every key element in place, this band has only one way to go – up.
