Two More Women File Lawsuits Against Sean “Diddy” Combs Alleging Sexual Abuse Dating Back to the 1990s
Just one week after Cassie Ventura’s shocking lawsuit and its rapid settlement, Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing new legal trouble. On November 23, 2023, two additional women stepped forward with separate lawsuits accusing the hip-hop mogul of sexual assault and abuse, with allegations stretching back more than three decades to the early 1990s.
Filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act — which has triggered a wave of last-minute civil cases ahead of the November 24 filing deadline — both lawsuits paint deeply troubling pictures of abuse, coercion, and silencing.
The first woman, identified only as “Jane Doe,” alleges that Combs raped her in 1991 when she was a 19-year-old student and aspiring singer. According to the filing, the alleged assault took place after a music industry party in Manhattan. Jane Doe claims that Combs used his influence to lure her into a private space under the guise of discussing a potential music opportunity before sexually assaulting her.
The second lawsuit, also from a Jane Doe, accuses Combs of drugging and sexually assaulting her in 1995 during what she describes as a “private recording session” in Los Angeles. She alleges that after the attack, Combs and his associates threatened her with professional blacklisting if she ever spoke out.
Both lawsuits not only target Combs, but also name other parties affiliated with his businesses and inner circle, claiming they either facilitated or covered up the alleged incidents. The filings demand damages and accountability, arguing that the industry protected Combs at the expense of his victims.
Combs has not yet issued a public response to the new allegations. His legal team, however, has previously denied all wrongdoing and described Cassie Ventura’s settled case as a “shakedown” — a claim that drew public backlash given the gravity of the accusations.
These latest lawsuits arrive amid intensifying scrutiny of Combs’s past and a growing number of voices from within the entertainment industry calling for transparency and justice. Advocacy groups supporting survivors of sexual violence are urging a full investigation into Combs’s alleged pattern of abuse, and some former collaborators have begun to distance themselves from the Bad Boy founder.
The music world — still reeling from last week’s revelations — now faces a renewed and deepening crisis. For many, the swift emergence of these additional claims is a sign that Cassie Ventura’s filing may have only scratched the surface of a much larger story.
As the Adult Survivors Act’s deadline looms, more disclosures may still be forthcoming. What’s clear is that the legal storm surrounding Sean Combs is far from over.
