Hot new interview with ‘Kshaw’

Ohio born artist kshaw is known for always speaking from the heart on any beat that he raps on. His following is growing more and more rapidly everyday – strictly by keeping it real and staying true to his roots of classic hip hop and storytelling.

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?  

Kshaw: I grew up in Delaware ohio and still currently reside there its a city located about 30 minutes away from columbus what made me want to become an artist was the creative freedom theres no certain way to do music its all about coming out with the best final product you can possibly make

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Kshaw: the way i came up with my name is simple its just my first initial and last name combined alot of artist pick creative and crazy names to symbolize a alter ego but there is no alter ego for me im kshaw the rapper wherever you see me it never turns off

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Kshaw: i think online music sharing is great it gives all artists a chance to be heard i give all my music away for free for the time being once i believe my fan base is strong enough ill start thinking more about sales

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Kshaw: my tip is to always be yourself nobody can do you better than you can do you i believe if you push something new and original eventually people will latch on

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

Kshaw: i have made made mistakes in performances but they are few and far between but if they do happen i keep my confidence and recover quickly i find thats the best way to keep things going smooth

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?  

Kshaw: i do not currently tour but hopefully will in the near future

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?  

Kshaw: i gather songwriting from anything and everything i see or feel could be the weather, my life experiences or something as simple as how i interacted with people that day my songwriting process changes all the time some days ill write all hooks other dayz it could be just all barz or a little of both depends on the day

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

 

Kshaw: none really honestly my mp3 playlist is mainly filled with old school rap classics like tupac and snoop

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?  

Kshaw: id invest it all into my community whether it be small businesses or charity work drowning myself in hedonism will probably never be my thing and with the half year off id still just be smoking weed and rapping

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?  

Kshaw: i eventually want to get more production equipment so i can eventually transcend some of time to producing but for right now i keep a simple vocal setup

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Kshaw: i promote my music in every way possible i do a lot of online promotion but also a lot of grass-root marketing i try to keep a good balance

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?  

Kshaw: i would love to perform with J Cole in Columbus Ohio i feel like our styles would make a great show were both are very socially conscious on issues that occur in the world

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Kshaw: im working on a ep that will have something for everybody all hip hop heads will love it

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?  

Kshaw: id probably be a robot at some day job or in jail

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?  

Kshaw: the first album was word of mouf by ludacris i was 8 or so after hearing that i knew i wanted gold chains in my life and some sticky icky

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?  

Kshaw: the easiest way i find to keep the balance is making set times for everything and trying to keeping a loose schedule

Kshaw: more music more shows more videos more everything and of course more progression
