Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

ZombieKnifer223 (Clx Gamer): Well….I grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and I still live there today! I decided to become an artist when I felt like I want to make some songs remixes, so I did and I released it Copyright and Royalty Free, until I found out it was popular (for a short while), so I made another remix of the Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 Good Ending music, and I released also Copyright and Royalty Free and it became popular! That is when I thought making music was fun!

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

ZombieKnifer223 (Clx Gamer): I came up with that name when I used it for joining Minecraft Servers (A sandbox based game), I came up with ZombieKnifer223 when I was making a gamertag on Xbox LIVE. There was an inspiration, the name was inspired when I love playing Zombie Mode on Call of Duty games, mostly I just knife them.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

ZombieKnifer223 (Clx Gamer): I think of online music sharing both good and bad. The bad part was that people could publish music that is either from Google Play Music or on Bandcamp, without permissions! The good part is that everyone worldwide can listen to your amazing creation, that is easier then using YouTube Music. I always give away my music free, because I personally think everyone should use my music on anything! But some of my music can only be use for Personal Use and not Commercial Use. Even, some of my music is not Copyright free.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

ZombieKnifer223 (Clx Gamer):  Sure! Here are some tips! BE ON TIME, Check and double check your gear, load and unload quickly, get the crowd moving, and last but not least, get to know everyone!

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

ZombieKnifer223 (Clx Gamer): For remixes, I pick the right music, do the best to remix it, and I listen to it if it is good to be released to the public, if it’s not, I do it again! The process is isn’t all that hard, just some waves editing and etc. I use Audacity to remix. For original music (Examples : Calm Music, Phase, Wait, etc.), I just roll with it. The process is not hard at all! The software I use is not a software at all, I use http://www.audiotool.com to make original content. For 8 BITS, it is extremely hard and I can’t explain how to do it.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

ZombieKnifer223 (Clx Gamer): I do not have a band website. I use SoundCloud to public my music at! It is the most recommended way to share your music around the world!

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

ZombieKnifer223 (Clx Gamer):   If I had 500K and a year off, I would use some of the money for music equipment, and the year off would be use to make a lot of albums. The rest of the money will be given to charity.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

ZombieKnifer223 (Clx Gamer):  I promote my music using YouTube, Twitter and SoundCloud. The one that works best is Twitter because that is where most people are at daily.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

ZombieKnifer223 (Clx Gamer):   What’s next? I might make an album of original music! There is an upcoming project, I am going to join a Game Developer into composing original music for his games. This project will include the game soundtracks being published, but some will not be downloadable.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

ZombieKnifer223 (Clx Gamer):   I might be playing games and making videos and publishing them on YouTube, and I might not have got a lot of joy in my life.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

ZombieKnifer223 (Clx Gamer):   Well…It is easy! I do my responsibilities and make music at the same time! How? Just before I say it, I am also a game developer. I personally think my fanbase is more important, so what I do is I finish my responsibilities first (Quickly, but neatly) and then I can make music (Quickly and also neatly). I do all of it quickly and nothing change!

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

ZombieKnifer223 (Clx Gamer):   They should look forward to contributing and also make some music. If they say that it is too hard, you can always get help and not make it hard. Besides, you might have some opportunities in the future!
