Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

I grew up on the east side of FortworthTx from da woods to da hillcide.
As for what made me become an artist; honestly I feel I was born a artist. I fell in love wit music as an infant. Soon as mama would turn on da radio I’d instantly stop crying.  By the time I hit 6 I was trying to rap over the radio. Of course I was making Any sense but music been my love ever since. I wrote my first song at 11 after learning poetry in 5th grade. I remember that day like yesterday. I had to write a poem and my teacher said it could be any form of poetry so I chose a lyric poem. From that point I was printed lyrics from puff bone b.I.g Pac ugk three six mafia Scarface and a few others. One day I was like I’m finna write my own song n I continued to write from then til now.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

My middle name is demone. The young came from me just being the baby of my family . People began calling me damoney cuz I was a all round hustler. Legal , illegal, anything to get to the money. The P stood for pimping and came later due to the lifestyle that chose me as a teen.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Online music sharing is like the gift of God to upcoming artist as myself. Thanks to the progress technology the platforms we have now days actually give artist global access and outlets to get discovered without having to spend mass amounts of money on traveling . I love it. And as for giving a way free music… Majority of my music is free to all online. The way I see it that’s just part of the game. You have to make a name for yourself before expecting people to appreciate your music enough to pay for it. That’s with anything your trying to market. You have to give out free samples in order for people to sense the urgency and measure the value of what you have to offer .

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

I would advise any artist that’s serious about their craft and career to #1 perfect your craft and be as unique as possible. Next invest in yourself or find the most effective management possible. And last never give up and always be better then your best.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

I gather most of my inspiration from life experiences. I’ve been through so many ups & downs my music is almost like a diary or an autobiography.
As for my writing process… I go through literally 100’s of beats until one catches my attention to the point the words immediately come to me. It’s kind of hard to explain. Sometimes I don’t write at all. If I’m really feeling the beat, I just punch in punch out from the hook to the verses.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

At the moment I don’t have a band website but I am in the process of constructing one, but my music is on several platforms from soundcloud to reverbnation, datpiff, spodify, audio Mack, and a lot more…

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

If I was given half a million dollars and a year off I’d invest in more studio time, features, promo, beats, a new wardrobe for me and my family,  buy mama a new crib, pay mines off, and cop a rolls Royce. lol

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Most of the time I promote myself. But when I need more effective promo I search google and twitter which to me is the best way to find promo that can get artist the exposure they need to get discovered and accumulate that buzz and fan base.

 Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Within the next 30 days I plan to release my first Ep titled straightouttaoptions which will be available through apple music,spodify, Amazon, etc.  and also I’ll be releasing several new singles with production by a handful of artist andmajor producers I been networking and shopping with.  I got merchandise n all man. All Ima say is stay tuned..

 Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Honestly if I wasn’t making music I’d be going to college and in the streets at the same time doing etcetera etcetera. I got a house fulla kids and alotta bills.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

I build around my career and everything I do and been done been for the growth and stability of my career.  If it don’t fit I ain’t gonn force it and that goes for work, family, etc. Music is my first love and will be forever. God created me this way n I ain’t trying to alter his perfect imperfection. This music shit  who I am and I’d rather die before I retire or let anything come in the way of my dreams. True story.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

My true and loyal fans can look forward to me keeping them proud and staying solid. Straightouttaoptions on the way, more music on the way, several shows on the way, and possibly I’ll be on tour before the end of summer16.
