Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Xethra: I grew up in Murrieta, CA. I saw my friend Smallsbeats make some stuff and I got interested in producing music.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Xethra: My friend Humpy and Dallas helped me make the name. We were all just messing around thinking of some names.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Xethra: I think it is a fantastic way of gettin your music heard from everyone around the globe. No I don’t but I have had a few download links before on some songs.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Xethra: Um not really hahaha. I’m started a year ago and just are starting to get followers now. What I can say is keep grinding and don’t slow down because one day you might get pick up for producing ect.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Xethra : I gain my inspiration from a lot of different artist. Here’s a few, Skrillex, Diplo, RL Grime, ERZA, Azizi Gibson, Travis Scott, Kanye West, and a lot of other artist too. I just start with a nice synth add some bass, high hats, and just through in some random stuff. I just have fun with it.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

Xethra: I don’t have a band website, but I use Soundcloud.com to get my music heard. Soundcloud is an amazing website and app to get your music known.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Xethra: I would pay off my parents house and then split it up evenly with my sisters, so we can a bit for college funds.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Xethra: Um Twitter mostly but just sending your link to everyone you know. I don’t think I would buy followers, but it is a good way to promote your music.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Xethra: I might have a drop with KT Soulutions and Laushaun Ellis. They will be rapping on two of my beats. It will be legendary man.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Xethra: I would be in school making good grades as always. I’m think about going to college as an Aerospace engineer. It’s Hard work, but will pay off in the future.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Xethra: It’s not that hard, but I always put school before music. I just like to sit and jam not try to put together an Orchestra. You feel. I just like music.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

Xethra: I will have a lot more drops, more features, and better quality beats. New Album art.
