Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Wxddell: I grew up in a small town north of cincinnati ohio, lebanon ohio. lived there my whole life. pretty solid little town tho. and i decided to become and artist when i was about 15 and i was in a pretty rough time with my family and other things, so i was looking for something to turn to and it just happened to be music
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Wxddell: Well my last name is waddell and my twitter name is Wxddell cause waddell was taken, so i just went along with that, not to much of an inspiration, i spent a couple days tryna find a rap name and couldn’t do it, so i stuck with Wxddell
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Wxddell: I mean, i like how people across country are tuning in to my voice, so it’s pretty cool, and yeah, just to grow more of a fan base i guess, it seems to be workin out.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Wxddell: If you Have a dream don’t give up on it, i’ve wanted to give up so many times and to this day im still not giving up.and try and find other local artist around the area and talk to them. social media is your best friend
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Wxddell: When i’m normally in my room and just listening to some music, like lets say logic for example, i think to myself, like damn, he was where i was at one point. everyone starts from the bottom, id say im about the first step on the ladder right now. and whenever i’m writing my songs, i like to write out kinda like a time line type of thing, mainly about what i want that specific song to be about. i go verse by verse. and it all kinda lays out perfect.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Wxddell: Of course i got a website, you have to if you’re a musician. The links right here → http://waddellofficial.com/ . i use twitter and soundcloud and facebook to promote my music. currently workin on spotify and itunes!
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Wxddell: Hmm. let’s see. I’d probably use some of it to get better recording equipment and build an actual studio, and there wouldn’t be anytime off, the rest i’d donate to the homeless shelter in my community. do anything i can to help others in need.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Wxddell: Just some people around me , i ask em to share it, like i said earlier social media is your best friend. lots and lots of people on twitter and facebook and i think that what works best. social media. Follow Me On Twitter @Wxddell
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Wxddell: I’m on the road of droppin like a mixtape / EP Album type of deal. something new, different beats, different type of flow. i really think people will like it. let a buddy get a listen to it a lil bit early and he said “it has the 2010 mac miller type of flow” which what i was really looking for.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Wxddell: To be honest i don’t even know. Probably still playing Baseball. i played for 10 years, stopped last year. Hopefully music takes me where i want
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Wxddell: I just do a lil bit at a time, day by day. I normally record and write my music before i go to bed. That way i have the rest of the day to get my first priorities done. until music becomes my job, which i really hope it does. It’s just a hobby right now. So Hopefully a dream comes true.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Wxddell: Ima try and make 2016 my year to where i really blow up and grow a bigger fan base. Music Music Music is all that i have to say for 2016. Stay Tuned…
