Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
Vsevolod: I heard about Exposed Vocals through Twitter, it was very interesting to enquire about this site for demonstrate my creativity
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Vsevolod: I was born in Moscow, Russia. I started to pay attention to music in early childhood, when I was in music school. In those days I played sax… But my interests have changed dramatically. I became interested in rock music, it was a real passion: Metallica, Red Hot Сhili Peppers, Pink Floyd, Green Day, Nirvana… And I started to learn to play the guitar and bass to play in a rock band. I still play in the same group, it is called “Boon For Moon”. But I love to experiment with sounds, so I created my solo project «Dеjа Vu Effect».
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Vsevolod: So, I decided to call my solo project “Deja Vu Effect”, because it’s a very musical name, it’s like an echo in the music space…
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Vsevolod: You know, it’s pretty controversial question. I think… This thing is good for knowling with music and creativity of artist. I post my music for free because I make it for all people without exception.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Vsevolod: You need to be a very sociable person, communication with local musicians and bands it`s a good experience and musical meetings can contribute to the organization of your concerts.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Vsevolod: Nothing can ever be perfect. Each of us makes some mistakes, in any case, especially musicians…
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Vsevolod: I`m an aspiring musician and I do not tour.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Vsevolod: I am inspired by other artists, completely different genres. Also my creative process involves different thoughts about life and all world, fantasies, dreams…
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Vsevolod: No, I don`t have my official website. But I have group of community in the Russian social network “Vkontakte” and I share my music on Soundcloud only.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Vsevolod: So, I love a lot of rock bands, from The Beatles to Metallica. In my mp3 player there`re classical symphonies, rock ballads, jazz songs…
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Vsevolod: I would create something colossal in the world of music, something original. I would write a legendary album (I can do it! I have a lot of ideas now), that would include long rock ballads with the Symphony orchestra, jazz improvisations, funk themes. So, I`d like to invent a new genre of music.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Vsevolod: Now I am writing compositions for my new album and working with my rock band in studio.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Vsevolod: With the help of the Internet in the first place… This is the most promising option I think.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Vsevolod: I would have loved to appear with Metallica, RHCP and Roger Waters in festival “Rock in Rio”, because I love their music since childhood and this place is very good for rock atmosphere.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Vsevolod: According to my plans, will be released series of albums. Wait and see… Now I am very passionate about Deja Vu Effect project.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Vsevolod: You know, if I wasn`t making music, I would be a painter, because I like draw too.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Vsevolod: Yes, it was Tom Jones (24 Hours). I listened to every track over and over very loudly, it was a revelation for me.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Vsevolod: Foremost, thanks to the desire that is very important for creative person.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Vsevolod: I will be giving for my fans the best of my creativity, new singles, ballads and… so… new album!)
