Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Vato Perro: I grew up in South Los Angeles for 6 years… Then i moved out to Phoenix, Arizona and have lived here forever. My mom now lives in LA so i go there often to rep.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Vato Perro: They call me perro because i am the little homie in my moms side of the family (where all the Gs are at) and they call me perro because i get the worst shit… but i get everything for free like weed, food etc.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Vato Perro; I let people bump my shit for free but if they tryna make a song with it they can buy it and i will take the tag off and its all theirs.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Vato Perro: Keep working dawg. Do what you are doing fuck everybody homie do you!

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Vato Perro: I listen to a lot of Metro, Everyone from 808 Mafia (Sizzle, TM88, and Tarentino mostly) and i just listen and listen to get an idea on what to do.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

Vato Perro: I use soundcloud to upload regularly and then when i make 10 beats, i release official mixtapes on DatPiff

 

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Vato Perro: I wouldnt take nothin. I work fpr my shit. This aint no Kardashian shit.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Vato Perro: I share on Facebook groups, hit up my homies and tell em i released a beat,and write on my school whiteboard.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Vato Perro: I’m gonna make a mixtape and sell at my school market day.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Vato Perro: Nothing.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Vato Perro: I do homework first and produce when i get time. I also do soccer.
