Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Tysupreme: Well I grew up in Brooklyn, NY in a place called Coney Island. Single parent home. I wanted to become a Singer because I love music. Everything I went through as a child even as an adult has an influence on my music.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Tysupreme: Tysupreme comes from my first name which is Tyrone and the supreme basically comes from me being just overall talented. Supreme means to me, something or someone who has a lot to bring to the table.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Tysupreme: Music sharing is part of the industry. Without it a lot of artists wouldn’t have the type of exposure they have now. Yes I would give some of my music away for free. Like I said music influences people. We need music in our lives whether it’s sad emotional music or up beat or even a club banger that’s what makes up dance, laugh and cry.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Tysupreme:  Keep pushing yourself to make songs. Write your lyrics about things that inspire you. Don’t worry about failure, just keep doing what you love to do.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

Tysupreme: From the beat. Yeah the beat, because I can feel the beat and it helps me choose the direction I need to go. My process starts with the instrumentals, then the lyrics. Pretty simple.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Tysupreme: No I don’t have a website but I do use soundcloud to share my music. People can follow me on there.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

Tysupreme: If I was given that much money, I’ll definitely try to get my music heard by going down different avenues. I’ll book some shows and hopefully fans come out to see me.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Tysupreme: I tend to use twitter to promote my music. Also soundcloud, not only is it free but everyone has access to it. Well twitter was the only method I used to promote my music.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Tysupreme: Oh yeah, I’m always writing new songs every week. So I  look forward to revealing my new material soon.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Tysupreme: um, I probably would be going to school for my criminal justice degree.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

Tysupreme: Its challenging but I try my best. I stay focused on what I’m trying to do and where I want to  be. There’s no stopping me.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

Tysupreme: Fans should look forward to great music, great shows and just get ready for one hell of a year.
