My name is Tre B. I am originally from Williamston, North Carolina but now live in Atlanta, GA . I been doing music all my life but started recording when I was 14. I can sing and my lyrics will make you think.  I just want to be heard because I have a lot to offer to the music game. I have my own unique style and if the right person hears me then i will be on of the greatest.

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Tre B: I moved around a lot growing up. I was born in Greenville, NC but since my dad was in the Air force, we moved to Hawaii for a couple of years. I came back to North Carolina to my hometown Williamston when I was four years old. I spent my childhood there but in my teenage years I moved to Atlanta, GA. I moved back to North Carolina at the age of 18. I finally moved back to Atlanta at age 23 and I am more than ready to push my music. I have been making up my own versions of songs since I was 6 years old. I knew I wanted to be an artist when I first heard myself on a recorded song. My homeboy had a recording studio program and asked did I want to try it out. So we wrote a song and recorded it over a hype instrumental. I couldn’t stop listening to that song and then I realized I wanted everyone else to feel the same way about my music.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Tre B: Well actually my childhood girlfriend gave me that name. Lol she said I am a different person at night so had to give me a different name for night time. Since my real name is TreVaughn Biggs, she took the first part of my first name and my last initial and called me Tre B. I liked it so I have not changed it ever since then.

 

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Tre B: I believe online music sharing is a great way for artist to be heard. It helps you build a fan base and see how people feel about your talent. People are on the internet most of the day anyway. Online is the biggest platform for music right now. I put out free songs because I just love to receive feedback from my hard work. I know one day it will pay off because once the buzz hits, it is not going to be any looking back.

 

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

 

Tre B: You simply have to get out there and look for it. Find a couple of your best songs and start signing up for Open Mics and competitions. During those shows, you should meet people that have other show opportunities for you. Submitting to online radio is also a great gateway to maybe major radio play. Pray, Grind, and be patient.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Tre B: Inspiration is everywhere for me. I live my life like a movie so it is always a story to tell. I stay on the go and like to explore my surroundings. When I get in the studio it is always a blunt rolled. I replay a beat over and over until I figure out what is the best topic for discussion. After I receive a topic, I usually write the hook and record it as soon as I finish. Then I proceed to write the verse while I am listening to the instrumental with the recorded hook. I record the verse and any adlibs I want to be in the recording after I finish writing the verse. After I edit the track and add any  effects, the song will be done. It is always a hit.

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Tre B: I would divide half of that to my family first of all. I would also buy a building for a personal studio and make hits their all year. Everything thing I need to survive will be in that building. I would spend the summer in Jamaica though.

 

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Tre B: I promote my music by going to do shows and handing out mixtapes. I also promote my music by posting online to different sites . Posting online works best for me because the feedback you receive lets you know if you are doing something right. It’s a great feeling to see your fan base grow and show love. You have to put yourself out there in every aspect. Take over the internet and the streets.

 

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Tre B: I am currently working on my next mixtape entitled “Dope Tactics”.  It will actually be an album because I will mostly be on original beats. I am linking up with some of the best artist I know. I believe this project will be the one to help me take off. This year I am going to put the grind in overtime. Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Tre B: I honestly do not know. All my life I have been doing music and inspiring other people to work on music as well. Without the ability to make a song, I feel empty. So if I was not doing music , I most likely would be doing nothing with my life.

 

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Tre B: At my job I try to keep an afternoon schedule. Keeping an afternoon schedule allows me to get off work in time for late night studio sessions or shows I have to do. It also allows me to get enough rest to wake up in time for work. If I could quit my job and do music full time I would, but bills have to be paid.

 

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

Tre B: Look forward to me growing as an artist. Look forward to more mixtapes for you to listen to in your car and home. Look forward to hearing me on the radio and seeing me on TV. Look forward to seeing me bossing my status up and making a vision for my team. I swear I am already famous.
